As aMember v5.x has basic note functionality built in my version has been withdrawn. What I will probably do is resurrect it as an Admin Status / Reminder widget as that is still something useful for busy sites.
The aMember Note Plugin is the first of the resurrected plugins that JLogica developed for the previous v3.x now fully integrated into aMember v4.x. This Plugin is totally free all you need to do is register and click the cart to generate your site key.
The Note plugin allows you to record notes about a user, keep track of issues or other important information that is visible under the user tab. Also, the latest Notes can appear on the dashboard as a general prompt. You are able to record system level Notes that can be useful if you have planned maintenance that other administrators need to know about. Once you start using Note you will not look back.
When you have a reasonable sized site navigation, even with menus, can become confusing for your clients. While a nice menu system goes some way to avoiding the ‘Lost in Space’ syndrome it doesn’t help with the ‘Where am I now’ problem. Here on JLogica as an example most plugins will have a changelog page, you land there, do something else and come back and wonder which plugin the changelog relates. Well the breadcrumb plugin comes to the rescue is shows you definitely where you are, try the Note Changelog (click link) you will see “JLogica > aMember Plugins > Note > Changelog” you immediately know where you are, you are also able to click the hierarchy and visit any of the pages that lead to the changelog itself.
